I am a professional musician who believes we must nurture and encourage our musicians in order to keep music live. I’ve organised this series of concerts to provide musicians with the opportunity to perform to an enthusiastic and supportive audience (comprising of fellow performers, family and friends.) You are welcome to perform any type of music (originals, jazz, classical, pop, etc.). Maybe you’ve practised the trumpet for years in your living room; let’s say you’re about to do your AMEB Grade 7 oboe exam; perhaps you’d like to perform your original compositions – this forum can showcase and develop your performing skills! If you’re interested but are not exactly sure what to do – give me a ring and I’ll help you work something out. I will accompany you on keyboard if required. This forum helps performers gain confidence and experience in live performance, widens their musical scope (by listening to others), and provides a social setting in which to share musical interests and ideas. All participants must prepare their piece/s to a relatively high performance standard. I will conduct informal “auditions” to ensure you are ready. If I don’t think your piece is polished enough, we can discuss ways for you to get there! So, if you’re a frustrated performer; if your students need a practice run before a concert or exam; if you can’t find an audience who will open-mindedly listen to your originals; if you need a forum to experiment with a new style; if you love music - call me! If you don’t feel confident yet, please come along and support our performers. Hopefully, you’ll be inspired!
