Who are they suited for ?
Papillons are suited to a wide range of environments and will enjoy the company of children over 5 years old to older people.
Nature
These charming, lively and even tempered little dogs are quiet, robust and adaptable as well as intelligent, alert, friendly and playful. Papillons make loyal and affectionate companions. They are easily trained and often used for Obedience work, are good with children and excellent watchdogs. They do not mind travelling and thrive in any climate.
Exercise
A papillon will generally exercise itself as long as it has enough room to have a good run ("the zooms"). A short walk will satisfy, it is no friend of long hikes. They love a period of chasing a ball.
Grooming
Requires regular combing of their ears and a weekly brushing of their coat. Under normal conditions, a bath once a month should suffice.
Feeding
Half a cup per day of good quality dry food and plenty of fresh water. They also enjoy a small bone such as a small sheep rib bone or a raw chicken neck or wing.
Life Span
10 - 14 years
Obedience Training is recommended !
