Our first involvement with showing dogs was when our son Paul wanted a "real
dog" for his birthday so we gave him a pedigree Dalm
atian "Aron".
The temptation to show Aron was just too strong and once hooked, there were
many more to come.
Showing Dalmatians for 15 years taught us a bit about these delightful dogs. Although we are no longer involved with Dalmatians, they played a significant part in the early history of Quinvale Kennels and sparked the interest in the show ring that has led to our involvement with our other breeds.
Again we have had our successes in the
Show Ring with a great result being to litter sister and brother
(Red Rose and Tattoo - both with Quinvale breeding) won Best in
Group and Best Opposite Sex in Group at the Brisbane
Royal.
On the left is Tattoo receiving his Best in Group with his owner David Staines.
Dallies are friendly, people dogs, energetic, require space
and are recommended for people who are active.
They also have a sense of fun. Here's Giselle (the smaller one in the stunning blue and white number) having a ball at a fashion parade.
Dallies love a walk and after one each morning will settle down happily to their day. Dallies have a gentle nature and so are great with children.
Did we say they are good with
the kids ! Take a look at Aron with an Angora kid way back in the
days when we had up to fifty Angoras roaming around our property.
Dallies are also smart with many doing exceptionally
well in Dog Obedience . Here are two Quinvale dogs, Tama and Rosie, who both
have gained their CDX - Companion Dog of Excellence. They are surrounded by
the some of the awards they won with a little help from their mistress Denise Drossou.
Well, aren't they just so clever !......Ah, it was nothing really, just a little spot of brilliance, that's all.
And how about this well behaved line-up of Quinvale canines. Try getting five young children to sit still for10 seconds to take a photograph !
Hmmm... I wonder if there's anything on
TV ? I'm sick of "The Beagle and the Beautiful",
"The Young and the Rottweilers" and "Days of Our
Lhasas".
When's the football on ?

And so another Breed that I have decided to no longer be involved with - THE WIREHAIRED FOX TERRIER.
This breed kept me busy for over 15 years. It is a wonderful breed but required many many hours grooming to keep them in the show ring, which I found was increasingly difficult to do. So my choice was to let others carry on with this breed in the show ring and move onto another breed that was easier to groom.
During the time I showed this breed I titled 10, all of which I really enjoyed doing. The last being Ch.Alkinra Kiss and Run (Imp.UK) which I had the pleasure of titling from point one to one hundred. This dog was an absolute pleasure to show and really gave me so much. Below is a photo of him with the last little lady that I bred.
