The water tank renovation story.

The first stage is to move the existing tank to new spot. This involved some digging with a bobcat.

Boxing up ready for the concrete.

Concrete arrives and the job starts.

New tanks have arrived. Temporarily stored in the carport.

Next stage is cleaning out the tank and repositioning it on the new slab. Lots of accumulated dirt and 7000 litres of water down the drain. Nice clean tank ready to move.

Once the tank is clean it's just a matter of moving to the new stand and redoing some plumbing.

Many thanks to Nat who helped us out at short notice with the Kanga loader. It sure made the job easier.

Nat at work.

It's 6am and the concrete pour starts.

Photobucket Photobucket

Just over an hour and the pour is done.

Photobucket Photobucket

A few hours to set then trim it up.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

A few hours later the boxing comes off and cleanup is done. A few days to cure properly then the tanks can go on.

Photobucket

Only one step to go now, tanks on and the plumbing done then wait for them to fill.

The final stage begins. Last of the guttering done and tanks moved into place.

Photobucket Photobucket

Let the digging begin! Final connections done for the water line to pump.

And the job is finally completed with just some repairs to the lawn to do.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Lawn is now repaired, we returfed some of the area and top dressed the rest. We are really glad to see the end of this project as, even though someone else did most of the work, we had enough to do that has us both completely stuffed (especially me).

Many thanks to Steve, Shane and especially Nat, who made a large job go exactly to plan and made it look easy.
