Cabnet Construction

After I discovered that computers and their software could be emulated, I found MAME. Doing some more poking about on the web for other stuff about it, I found that people had acually build full-size arcade cabinets. Inside these cabnets, they then put computers running MAME and interfaced arcade controls with the computer, thus in effect making an arcade machine that would run anything that MAME could emulate.

At this point, the lights started turning on in my head "Hey, I did word work for the HSC, I could make one of those!!!" So , after more searching, I eventually found LuSIDS plans. These are, by far, the most used and most widely modifyed plans out there. You can find a link to his page in the links section, under plans.

At the moment my cabinet is finally underway, you'll find pictures about it here.

For those of you that want a more authentic design of your favorite cabnet, I found a site via BYOAC web-forum where a guy calling himself Jakobud has kindly started drawing up plans with dimentions that other users have provided. You'll find a lot of this kind of thing within the MAME comunity, on the whole, they can be some of the nicest people you could ever meet. They dont do this sort of stuff for cash, they do it for the love of the game.
