Hi!

The other day I came across the following saying by Wayne Dyer: “Enlightenment is your ego’s greatest disappointment”, which made me smile as it's so apt! The 3D ego mind has no conception of what the 4th dimension is about and sees it as a threat to its existence. Even after our initial ‘awakening’ the ego continues at first to try and use the 4D reality to improve its 3D existence. But the ego plays no role in the 4D reality.

Over time, a dying daily to the 3D reality takes place. At times this dying can be hard, as the 3D mind clings to its belief or concept of security and happiness, and it can feel like being in a pressure cooker, it can feel like we are going mad! Sometimes we are so identified with a particular belief, that we need an almighty whack to become dislodged so we can move on. For when we are not at peace, it’s because we are resisting the Now. Any desire is a projection into the future; any regret is a return to the past. Both yesterday and tomorrow must be discarded into the Now.

As we sit in stillness and listen to that ‘still small voice’, gradually the truth dawns on us and we begin to understand and accept that nothing can happen to us except as an activity of our own consciousness The more we choose to practice being in the Now, the more we give ourselves up to the transition which takes place in our consciousness, a transition from ‘whereas we were blind', to 'now we see’.

Quoting Joel Goldsmith: “This constant, consistent, and dedicated knowing of the truth will develop a state of consciousness that does not shift back and forth between the evil and the good: it holds itself at least with some measure of stability to the spiritual path and to spiritual realisation.”

Very few people experience the Shift in one sudden moment. For most of us it’s a gradual process, (like a thief in the night), an awakening, starting with the becoming aware of the ‘witness’. This is followed by a series of small and bigger shifts, resulting in the veil getting lifted that little bit more each time, when we suddenly ‘see’ and understand a particular truth. These shifts eventually cause a reorientation of human values.

Sometimes we are not even aware of the change in ourselves until something comes up and we realise we are responding differently. Our detachment grows, as does our unconditional love, things become less personal. There is a growing respect and embracing other people’s viewpoints and beliefs, as we realise that we are all experiencing 3D illusion in our own way. Life becomes simpler and we become more ordinary, as we begin more and more to live in what Satyam Nadeen calls ‘choice less awareness’. A process from ‘doing’ to ‘being’ takes place. As soon as even a measure of the 4D consciousness is attained, life begins to flow more by Grace than by effort.

Another thing that happens is there no longer is any desire to plan anything by intentional effort in your future; this desire disappears, along with the notion of free will and any control over our individual destiny. As Joel says: “Nothing can come to you; nothing can be added to you. You are already that place in consciousness through which Infinity is pouring”. We become the witness of the Divine activity of Life expressing and fulfilling itself.

I’d like to conclude this blog with a poem by my friend Paul Bura, (poet, writer and broadcaster) which says it well:

FAR OUT

Far out to the edge
Where infinity lay
Was a small fragment
Spread-eagled throughout the cosmos:
I was trying to get back home
When all the time… I was!

Till next time!
