FIF'S BLOG
MAY 2009

Hi!

I can now smile to myself when I re-read my December blog in which I had written: "As far as I'm concerned, I'm living in a period of unknowing". How apt! Little did I know of the next test awaiting me! A test that involved a very painful conscious dying to a part of my 3D self, which I was, without realising, still very identified with. A death followed by a resurrection, in the form of an inner peace and joy! This experience lead me to write the following article, which I would like to dedicate to my dear friend John Manson.

ORGANIC ALCHEMY

I quote H.T. Hamblin: “It is most important that we should realise that life consists of a series of tests, presenting us with an opportunity to meet certain experiences by which we can attain to higher things. Therefore we should always thank God for every experience of every day, no matter how unpleasant it may be”.

Every problem we encounter in our life is a test. And every test is an initiator. It gives us the choice and opportunity to apply the truth principles we know and believe in to that problem. Each time we apply these principles it enables us to stand back and observe our ego’s reaction. We watch the fear, pain and resistance of our conditioned mind.

If we are able to just watch these parts of ourselves which are not yet aligned to our Higher mind, our true self, and stay with it, let ourselves feel the fear, the pain and the resistance, without judgement and without doing anything about it, this gap between the observer and the observed becomes the vessel in which organic alchemy can take place, leading to transformation. Because when we can completely stay with what we are feeling and accept it, we are in stillness, in non resistance, we are in surrender and an inner transition can take place and we find ‘the peace that passeth all understanding’.

“All life’s experiences are good, both pleasant and unpleasant. Every experience gives us the opportunity of rising to higher things. Without these experiences we could not rise, therefore, we should at all times praise God for all life’s experiences, both bitter and sweet”. (HTH)

Each time we manage to surrender, it is like experiencing a death, but only to be followed by a rebirth. With those parts now re-aligned, it means we have reclaimed some more of our real self and freedom! As we continue to surrender, God’s qualities shine through us more and more. The more we practise this, the more we understand the movements and the destructive nature of the ego, and bring it to an end.

Fulfilment and happiness, true joy and creativity can only be experienced when the real Self is activated, when we no longer exclusively identify with the ego, but when we are connected and identified with the real Self, the eternal, creative substance of our being. It requires trust and courage to practise the Presence, to surrender to an inner movement that is not responsive to the outer thinking faculties.

Each step of the journey represents the best that you can do and gives you strength to move into the next phase of your journey of transformation into coming to know your true self. Knowing your true self means being free from self-seeking in situations, persons, places and conditions. The less you identify with them, the more you realise you were looking for yourself in them.

Our life becomes less run by fear and desire, because we realise that we don’t need to add to our self to be our self more fully. Neither can anything be taken away from us. This process of transformation gradually unveils the true self within and eventually we come to a point when our need for joy of expressing our true self, its passion and gifts becomes greater than our resistance to it, and we will find the courage to live a life that expresses the wonder of who we are, reflecting our highest self, energies and intentions.

Till next time,
with love,
Fif
