SUCCESS

The term 'success' means different things to different people. It depends on whether because of our unawakened consciousness, we want to enrich and profit the self, sometimes at the expense of others, or whether we are motivated and inspired by an awakened consciousness, realising that only by service to the whole can we find true success, including joy and fulfilment for ourselves.

For success is an activity of consciousness, nobody can be truly successful unless inspired by the Christ. As HTH states 'by serving the whole, we bring the greater Self into expression and have behind us all the Infinite Power'. It is what our whole life's journey is all about. A journey from darkness to Light.

We develop this awakened consciousness by studying and reading about the truth principles and its laws. And eventually, with regular meditation, prayer and listening to the still small voice, we will hear that Voice, receive Its impartation and partake of Its Grace.

We will be guided on this journey because this divine consciousness not only shows us the solution to any and every problem and the right direction to take in any situation, but being Infinite, It is the consciousness of every individual and brings every person and circumstance together for the good of the whole. Because the Light of this consciousness is everywhere, within each person and situation. And our spiritual journey involves finding and connecting with this light every step of the way.

We all have our own unique work to do in this life, for which we have been given our own unique talent and expression. Only we, each and everyone of us, can do that particular work successfully. And to find our particular work, we must follow our heart's passion, which will lead us to it, step by step, through all sorts of experiences.

Back in the seventies, I and my two partners, opened up a wholefood shop together, and despite the fact that we had huge opposition from established franchise health food shops, our business flourished, simply because we felt passionate about bringing wholesome foods to the public at an affordable price.

We started off with very little money, but the landlord let us have the shop rent-free for the first three months, if we were prepared to paint it and put up shelves ourselves. He himself had started with what he termed 'orange boxes' and wanted to help us get on our feet. When we opened, we had to put two rows of the same products on the shelves to make it look like we had more stock. But what we put out came back to us, by becoming very busy and attracting many loyal customers.

After seven years it was time for us to move on and we sold our shop to one of these chains. Within a few months, their profits dropped dramatically. The director of this chain came to see us to ask us what the secret was of our success. I remember us saying to him that there wasn't much point telling him, as we knew he wouldn't believe us. But he insisted we tell him, so we told him how when customers came to buy products, we showed them the cheaper (but just as good) brands, how we kept the prices down, how we always had time to listen and chat etc and he became angry and told us what we were telling him was ridiculous! He simply didn't understand the universal laws of love.

Each life experience is a reflection of the light and darkness in our own life. When our intention is to find the light in everything and in everyone, we attract people and experiences that must connect with us through our light. And they connect with us through theirs. We then allow only those things that are of the light to be in our reality. And everything changes. Now we can experience the fullness of the blessings that are ours because those are available to us when we find the light. This is how we create success because success is the highest expression of the Light. So when we find the light we step into a reality of success that is ours by divine right.
