IDDT AUSTRALIA - AGENDA

Survival

Without a range of natural animal insulins the quality of life for many insulin dependent diabetics and their families would diminish.   For some, the loss of natural animal insulins would result in their death!   It is our aim to ensure we are heard and catered for by the medical profession, governments and the pharmaceutical industry.
We are part of the Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust - International, that has been established to unite diabetics throughout the world in order to have freedom to choose safe medications and maintain dignity and well-being.
It is now more than just survival, in that we are pro-active, not reliant upon the whims of the marketplace and drug manufacturers to make critical decisions about our health without consultation.

Long term aims

To provide information to people of Australia, that there are severe problems experienced by some people when using Synthetic human insulin and to let them know that they are not alone in their despair!
That all varieties of beef and pork insulin, in injector pen cartridges and vials be made available in Australia on doctor's prescription through the National Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
To live without fear of losing a life through the ignorance of others.
