Out Links:
Here are some links to really good digital multimedia web sites that I found
during the last two years. Some of these sites contain amusing Flash content, some of which is a little bit "bent". Others showcase high quality digital art from incredibly talented professionals working in illustration, computer game design, and other areas of design. Some of these sites provide information about Arts festivals, art exhibitions and current trends in the arts.
www.edgen.com showcases imaginative, high quality drawings, animations, and ambient music.
www.anat.org.au ANAT is Australia's peak network and advocacy body for media artists working in screen, sound, installation, performance, literary and networked arenas; creating opportunities for connection, collaboration, innovation, research and development both nationally and internationally.
www.flashring.com is a cool site containing Flash cartoons, online games, flash series, forums, political flashes, contests and much more. Designers, artists and lovers of comedy will definitely find some funny content here.
www.flyborg.net one of the funniest, coolest little web sites I have seen so far and I have covered a lot of ground on the internet. This guy has a bizarre sense of humour, his design skills are very good, and he has very good cartooning / illustration skills - inspirational on many levels.
www.furnation.com/JaxxBlackFox features digital illustrations by Tina Leyk. Her site, Angels Of Iron contains many brilliant fantasy illustrations. A "must see" kind of web site.
www.zoomquilt.org one of the most unusual art sites to be found on the internet. Very clever, very arty and highly original - choose the Flash version of Zoomquilt. There is also some great digitally painted art on display from the artists that collaborated to create Zoomquilt - they have some really well designed web sites too.
www.redbubble.com/people/reflector RedBubble is an online art gallery and creative community that makes it easy to buy and sell art as high-quality framed prints, greeting cards, posters, designer T-Shirts and more. View my profile, my art and design, my poetry, and one micro-story that is not available anywhere else - and maybe buy some of my art if you want to.
www.artistshub.com is a site that has been developed to provide a quality, digital online multimedia portal for artists of all genres.
www.salafestival.com the South Australian Living Artists Festival is now in its 10th year and it is planned to be the biggest held to date.
www.visualarts.net.au is one of the major web sites in Australia dedicated to visual art and design. It contains information on arts grants and prizes, an artists gallery, an online-store, a blog, and much more.
www.cultureandrecreation.gov.au the Culture and Recreation Portal provides access to online services and information in the fields of culture and recreation, from all levels of government and the non-government sector.
Back Linking To Digital Cells:
If you visit the Digital Cells web site and would like to link to it, please send an e-mail request by using the facility in the Contact Me section. If you do not wish to link to a non-commercial site, please keep this web site in mind. Check the search engines for it again in the coming months. I am getting restless! This site will be pulled from the ground and re-planted at a dot com address shortly - with the ability and the right to advertise digital media software and IT services.
Submit Your Digital Art Creations For Display On This Site:
No matter how you surfed to the Digital Cells web site, I hope you found it enjoyable.
If you make digital art in any form and would like to display your work on this site, please Contact Me. You must own the copyright in the work and have the legal right to use and display the work publicly. As the storage space is limited for contributions, work submitted will be removed from the site from time to time, whenever necessary.
No monetary payment will be given to students or artists submitting their work. It's just an opportunity for people to see your work, hopefully expand on your commercial success in your chosen art discipline, and build extra links to your own web site if you have one.
Maybe you have a lot of good or even great art that you would like employers to see, but you do not know how to start a web site from scratch for free. Just use a search engine to perform a search for either free web space or a free web site, then carefully read / sift through the search results until you find what you think is the best place to house your new web site. From then on, the only thing that can stop you from running a successful web site and enjoying a great art and design career is yourself. If you are determined and you can learn from the examples of other successful people, then you will eventually work beside those people in the same industry as them. There are many search engines that you could use to learn about web design and digital design but here are 5 of the world's main Search Engines -
www.google.com.au
www.search.yahoo.com
www.live.com
www.ask.com
www.altavista.com
This site does not engage in e-commerce at present, but that is the long term objective of the site. However, the site will always maintain a balance between the love of art and commercial considerations - with art "winning hands down" every time. |
