Sound proofing
As much as I wanted to have top notch sound proofing for
this room, I was not willing to pay $1000's of dollars to do so, but I wanted to
do something. Anything that allowed me to watch movies loud enough
without waking the kids at the back of the house was worth it.
This was the last chance I had to do this. The plasterers
were coming in the next day to put up the gyprock sheets. It was kind of a last
minute decision - I rushed around all day checking out my options and came that
night to install the "soundproofing batts" purchased.

Looking through the double
sliders
Note I even did the tiny gap in the beam above
the doorway. While I examined every possible aspect it was just not
going to work adding sound proof batts to the cavity sliding door
structure.

The cables are all locked in now. The masking
tape you can see was to prevent the batts from falling out, and will
not prevent future cabling attempts or removal.

The right rear corner
I'm not sure how acoustic normal batts are,
but considering there is brickwork between the batts and the outside
wall, I wasn't about to replace them.

I don't think I could be any more thorough :P
