Canticle of the Birds A variation on the painting, "Celtic Blessing", but this time using birds as symbols of the joyful songs of praise found in the Psalms. Edging the mandala is Psalm 150. Four gospel figures from illuminated Celtic manuscripts ring the inner circle of Australian flora and fauna. Christs saying, "I am the vine and you are the branches" circles the Celtic cross which is lit from behind symbolizing the Light of the World.

Praise
God in his sanctuary,
praise him in the vault of heaven,
praise him for his mighty deeds,
praise him for all his greatness.
Praise
him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with harp and lyre,
praise him with tambourines and dancing,
praise him with strings and flute,
praise him with the clashing cymbals,
praise him with triumphant cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Alleluia!
