| My great grandparents moved here from
Syal between 1888 and 1890. My great grandfather died
here in 1941. My grandfather was the sole beneficiary in
his will on condition that he supported his mother. My
great grandmother died in 1952 and my grandfathers
brother stayed here until he died in 1967. My
grandfather offered the house to my father sometime
later, an offer he declined and something he later
regretted. I visited the house for the first time in
1980 when I was 11. All I can recall is 3 small rooms,
and there was a larger modern house next to it. The man
in the new house was using the old house as a stable for
his horse. |
