I have just ome across another record which indicates Donald Mathesons wife was Margaret Ross

In memory of Donald MATHESON, died Rhenamain, 26th November 1860, aged 86 years. Also his wife Margaret ROSS, died 14th May 1885, aged 88 years. Also their eldest son William MATHESON, died Pitlochry, 16th May 1879, aged 64 years. Also Jane MACKENZIE, wife of William MATHESON, who died Rumbling Bridge, Dollar 2nd November 1879, aged 64 years. Also William Daniel George MATHESON, only son of William MATHESON and Jane MACKENZIE, died Pitlochry 10th February 1879, aged 29 years. Both interred Greyfriars, Perth. Also their son-in-law John MORRISON, died 14th April 1886, aged 49 years.

Catherine married Donald Matheson, son of William Matheson and Isabella Munro. (Donald Matheson was born about 1774,³¹ died on 26 Nov 1860 in Lairg, Sutherland County ³¹ and was buried on 28 Nov 1860 in Lairg Church Yard, Sutherland County.)
