It is with deep regret I have to announce the death of one of Stanley's oldest and highly respected person, Mrs Downing of Back Creek,Stanley, who has resided there since 1853.Family of nine children, died 3rd January 1893.Interred Stanley 4th January 1893.

DEATH.....Downing on 3rd January, 1893, at Stanley, Isabella, the wife of John Downing aged 67 years, after a long and painful illness. Rest in peace.
