I have been a member of the cat fancy for over thirty years, during which time I was Secretary of the Democratic Cat Council and Registrar of the Independent Cat Association for four years. I have been a member of many clubs over the years, founding the Rex Cat Club of Australasia in the late 1970's, being its Secretary for seventeen years, together with running many shows over an even longer period of time and instructing other members on all aspects of managing shows.

In the broader field of communication, I published "Cat Chat" magazine and have been a delegate to firstly the ACF and later the Coordinating Cat Council of Australia.

For twenty years, I was one of seven voluntary members of Siamese Rescue, caring for lost and dumped cats, sometimes for months, whilst either their owners were traced or the cats were re-homed.

My breeding experience ranges through Siamese/Orientals, Cornish and Devon Rex, Burmese, Abyssinians and British Shorthairs; currently concentrating on building a reputation in Siamese/Orientals under my SYRECKS Prefix.
