Lucas is an incredibly good-looking, charismatic, popular marketing student. He's well-liked by his peers and his teachers, and makes an impression wherever he goes. He doesn't have a lot of money, but his tuition and lodgings are paid for. And he knows that he can get modelling work whenever he needs some extra cash.

So, why isn't he deliriously happy?

Because there has to be more to life than just this. He's tried Christianity, Buddhism, Yoga, and Tai Chi. He's tried Paganism, Animism, Wicca, and New Age Philosophy. He's tried it all, but none of it was right. So he's still looking.
